Vampire Princess Miyu
Miyu is a soldier of justice when it comes to releasing the souls of the shinma. Miyu is trapped eternally in the body of a 13 year old. Lavra/Larva her compainion and only friend follows her to the ends of the earth and back. Miyu gives her victims eternal life unlike her undead counterparts who bring death. Miyu goes after the Shinma. Shima are god like beings who prey on defenceless humans. Miyu had been destined to become the leader of the Shinma because of her royal blood. Miyu and her mother (now gone and had left Miyu their task) had released these Shinma from their rightfull place in their attempts to deny their vampiric nature. Now Miyu was forced to remain eternally trapped in a 13 year old body to fufill the task of collecting all of the stray Shinma they released.

Another Vampire princess associated with Vampire princess Miyu is Vampire princess Yui. Yui is the daughter of a Shinma father, a Shi mother and the blood of a vampire. The Shi are like the Shinma but they are strongly attached to the magic lake (it is a lake of blood as far as I know). Yui is lent her power from the lake and cherry trees. Yui is related to the guardian of the lake through distant ancestry (the guardian was the sister of one of her distant ancestress'). Yui's sister Yuki fell in love with a mortal man 100 years ago and instead of fufilling her obligation to control the lake, she chose to enter an eternal sleep with the one she loved. The Shi are afraid that Yui will wake up her sleeping sister who will regain power over the lake and stop them from draining it's power for their own devices. Yui also has a protector much like Miyu's Lavra only he is named Nagi. Nagi coincedentally is the adopted brother of the man Yui's sister Yuki fell in love with. They also team up with a Shi who can transform from male to female, depending on what he/she thinks his/her victims will prefer. Whereas Miyu and Lavra are quite forboding and silent, Yui and Nagi are quite vocal. Yui laughs and cries on a normal basis and Nagi complains about what a bother Yui is. She also has dark red eyes as opposed to Miyu's gold eyes.
